Project overview
Pavagada Phase 2 is a 3.5 MWp solar power project under development on land immediately adjacent to Phase 1, extending the same site rather than opening a new one.
Building next to an asset already in development means the ground, the access and the grid connection are known quantities. The evacuation route is the established KPTCL infrastructure that made Phase 1 viable, and the substation capacity to take the additional generation is already there.
The project is being developed to the same standard as Phase 1 — operational efficiency, sustainability, and long-term value for consumers and stakeholders.
Once running, this project is expected to avoid roughly 5,300 tonnes of CO₂ a year — the equivalent of powering about 5,400 Indian households. See sustainability for the method and the portfolio total.
Why the same site
The best second site is usually next to the first.
Pavagada earned its position through strong irradiation and well-established power evacuation infrastructure. Extending onto adjacent land keeps every one of those advantages and adds one more: nothing about the site has to be learned twice.
Substation availability is the practical constraint on most solar development in the region. Phase 2 sits within reach of the same established KPTCL connectivity that serves Phase 1, which removes the longest lead item from the schedule.

Phase 2 extends the capacity available to industries, hospitals, manufacturing units, and commercial establishments seeking reliable, cost-effective green power under the Karnataka Group Captive framework.
